A new publication on menopause.

An expert panel convened by The Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health has written an excellent monograph called “Guidelines for Counseling Women on the Management of Menopause.” They were designed for use by clinicians and health plans to meet HEDIS 2000 measures for management of menopause, and include basic principles of patient counseling; topics to discuss in menopause counseling; information on methods for managing symptoms and diseases of advancing age; and resources for women, clinicians, and health plans. The monograph comes with a pocket reference which is useful in the clinical setting. Copies are $7.50 from the Jacobs Institute, and can be ordered from the website or at 202-863-4990.
